about

The first Toxic Al independent release! They were a VERY limited edition (read: made at home on an almost zero budget) and they were on sale in Brisbane at places like Rockinghorse Records, Butter Beats and Phat Stuff.

I'm pleased to say I sold at least a few of them and had the pleasure of meeting some of the people who bought them later on when I was gigging with The Coalition Crew. The background image on the cover is a photo I took of a home-made loaf of bread - it was ugly and mis-shapen, but I was very proud of it.

Nice metaphor for the album, which was made using a dodgy version of Cool Edit 1.0 which had timing issues and periodically crashed. The results of my early experiments were put on CD using the first burner I ever owned. Prior to that, I was still working with a 4-track recorder and analog cassettes!!!

Feels like much longer ago than it actually was...
